DIY Soap Scum Remover

Are you on Pinterest? If you are, no doubt you've seen your share of questionable DIY projects and even more projects that you're simply too hesitant to try.  No one wants to waste time and materials on a Pinterest fail.

A year or so ago, I finally gave in to curiosity and tried the DIY soap scum remover that ev-heh-heveryone repinned and never actually made..... mostly because it was cheap and easy.  The stakes were low.  Much to my relief, not only did it work, it far exceeded my expectations.

If you've ever wondered who actually buys the giant jugs of white vinegar at Costco, it's me.  I use it for tons of different things-- for one, it neutralizes caustic soap- but I also use it to clean.  It's one of the two ingredients in my favorite soap scum remover on the face of the earth-- vinegar and dish soap.

DIY Soap Scum Remover

1) Combine 1 part white vinegar and 1 part dish soap in a spray bottle.

2) Close bottle and shake.

3) Spray on dirty tub and shower, and go do something else for 10 to 20 minutes.

4) Remember suddenly that it has been over an hour, and go back to shower.

5) Wipe off with a warm, wet cloth.

6) Be amazed as soap scum disappears with absolutely ZERO elbow grease.

7) Lunge forward and throw fake gang signs at your old, chemical filled soap scum remover whilst yelling, "BAM!"
